My passion has always been to learn with my hands. From crayons to paint brushes, to my daytime career of turning wrenches and stripping wires. I have always found inspiration from daily life, nature and written/spoken works of art.
There were so many people who were around in my childhood who all pushed me towards my art. When I fumbled and doubted, they were there to catch me. From my both of my grandma's teaching me to sew, embroider, spin wool & crochet - My mom teaching me how to bead jewelry - My dad surrounding me with his handmade leather work - My wonderful art teachers from K-12 who pushed me to do better, try new techniques and listened to me when I said I have a new idea. All of the words of wisdom, critiques and suggestions will always ring in my mind. They remind me of my next step when I forget what to do and feel stuck.
I am in so many artistic fields because of them and my own cursed curiosity. While art is 'subjective', the way that I want to communicate how it feels to me, is not. Multiple mediums help with that. I want to do more than just create. I want to breathe piece's of my soul into my work.
A more than deserved thank you to my husband, Byron, who's last name is now on all of my art. Thank you for helping me find the time to create and build. Our life and our beautiful daughter keeps us oh so busy. I wouldn't want it any other way.
I am a wife with a beautiful daughter and three furry kids! We're living the life here in Laurel, Montana.
